Mitsubishi WD-92840 92" 3D Home Cinema TV 4.5 5 13 13
DO NOT BUY I purchased the WD -92840, S/N 101199, in September 2011. The TV went down on Feb 20th, 2012 with vertical line problems. The part was ordered on March 1st, 2012. The optical engine part is back-ordered and will not be shipped by Mitsubishi until April 17th, 2012. So that means the TV will be down for over two months. Not acceptable for a $4600 TV. We have purchased a $1300 projector (Mitsubishi) in its place, and if I had to do over again I would never have purchased the Mitsubishi rear projection TV, as the front projector does an equivalent job. This product has it all/ AND THE BEST PICTURE !! I have 4 LCD tv from 40 to 55 inches through out my house, had them for a number of years. I was looking for a lagre unit for my game room and came accross the WD dlp products. I was able to compare side by side the picture quality of both, LCD and DLP. Once you see them side by side there is no comparison, the DLP blows every thing else away. So I bought the wd73640 and took it home, it was very easy to install except for figuring out the 3d. Every body loved the size and the unbeatable picture quality. so- 4 months later I broke down and bought the WD92840 for the game room. I purchased it through Sears because I had problems with Conns and hoped that since Sears was listed by Mitsubishi they could suport this product, and they did -100%-. My new set arrived broken and I fought with the delivery company but they were not going to be responsable. So one call to sears and I had another one in less than a week, go sears. go sears,-- The WD92840 worked great with 3-d so I tried again to figure out the WD73640's 3d and finnally did and got it working. Both sets put out real colors that blow away every thing else and the edge to edge is perfect. For the picture quality nothing else compares, for the size nothing else compares, using Sears, recomended by Mitsubishi, scores big time for customer service. I also had a chance to see what the big movie theaters use to project the movies we all go to see and wow! they were all Mitsubishi DLP projectors. only negatives are - could use a good base for the sound - can't hang on the wall You need to do your home work like I did, go see these sets side by side and decide for your self February 19, 2012
2nd Lamp burnt out in less than 1 1/2 yrs My wife bought the TV from QVC in November 2010 and the second lamp has burnt out. The first one burnt out last last fall and now the second one burnt out. Ther is plenty of space behind the TV for cooling also. January 28, 2012
Absolutely Awesome - worth the money !!! This TV is gorgeous. The 92" is huge and has an outstanding picture for a TV this size. There is no distortion. It is bright and brilliant and very clear. DLP is so crystal with no pixelations compared to a smaller LED TV. It is just as clear from the side, laying on the floor, standing up, close and far back. It is really life-size. The 3D is unreal. What an experience you will get. You just can't imagine how intense it is and how beautiful. THANKS MITSUBISHI - KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !!!!! December 22, 2011
