Superb Television
This TV is wonderful. They just delivered it this afternoon. I cannot move from the set. I just love the picture it great so very clear especially the HD it is just like at the theater. I was a little worry that it would overwhelm my livingroom. Since my room is the size of two rooms the picture view is so vivid and clear. I just love it , and can't wait to hook-up my 3D and start renting those 3D movie. Mitsubishi you have done it again. I have one of your Outlander vehicle's. I"m in LOVE with your products. You get a A+++++ from me. My next purchase is going to be a 92". I really like BIG Tv's... Mitsubishi keep up the good work!!!

Great DLP Television!
I must say, I am very happy with my 73" 840! I have had a lot of HD sets and this television is by far the best value. Although not as crisp and bright as my plasmas, this set can produce theater-like quality video. I recommend using this set primarily for High Definition sources, as SD content like the Wii do not do it justice. As with all HD sets, SD content looks rather unpleasant, even with the Plush 1080P feature. This is also my second Mitsubishi DLP. I purchased the 60C9 back in early 2010, and eventually got rid of it due to the picture quality, screen grain, etc. But Mitsubishi has really improved in this particular model, none of the aforementioned issues are present, and I am very satisfied. Another noteworthy feature is the 16 speaker sound bar built right into the television. The sound is very crisp and loud, you also have the option to connect a separate sub-woofer to the unit. I have my Onkyo sub-woofer attached and the sound is amazing. The picture and sound together really give you a true theater like experience. This TV also has the Stream media options to stream internet content. I haven't really utilized that feature much yet, but it is good to have. I have also yet to try the 3D on this set (3D glasses coming in the mail), but I have read that the 3D effect is one of the best in the market. If you are contemplating this set I say by all means go for it. It really is a great value when comparing price for size and features. If having a back to your television does not bother you then this is the right set for you. Even though it does have a back to it, the TV is very light. There is also one other thing to consider when going DLP, the lamp. The lamp that these DLP TVs use go out supposedly every 2-3 years depending on your settings and usage. Replacing the lamp from Mitsubishi should only set you back around $99. When replaced, you basically have a new television. So Overall, The Mitsubishi WD-73840 is a great buy!

Incredible picture.
After 6 months of looking and researching, I finally went with DLP last week taking delivery of my new WD-73840. I'm glad I did. This is a fantastic unit. The picture is better than I expected. The TV is an excellent value, but the remote is really disappointing. If Mitsubishi took some lessons from Sony on designing their remotes they would have hit a home run with this unit. The supplied remote just has a real cheap look and feel. Other than that, 5 stars from me.

Great TV, if you don't care about 3-D
Great picture and super sound. We had hoped for an equally great 3-D experience, but the built-in emitter has a VERY limited scope of coverage and it seems only one user can sit within that scope for the recommended glasses to function. We, unfortunately, bought 4 pairs thinking the whole family might enjoy. If we had tried the 3-D at the store before buying, we would have switched to Samsung. The "Mitsubishi Electric Visual Solutions America " has not been able to provide any "Solutions" for this problem.
